No. Use it on dry hair only. Heat on wet hair is how damage happens, and it will not hold the result anyway.
On thick or tightly curled hair treat it as a touch-up tool rather than a full straightener. It will smooth edges, a fringe and flyaways well, but a full-size straightener with proper plates is still the right tool for doing the whole head.
Enough for the touch-ups it is designed for across a day out, rather than a full straighten from scratch. Charge it the night before if you know you will lean on it.
